In full: Edinburgh streets set to be closed, get wider pavements or cycle lanes
Wide-ranging changes to how people move around the city were announced by Edinburgh City Council last week, including plans to shut roads, introduce cycle lanes and widen pavements.
As part of the plans, the council released details of which streets they plan to look at first and potential time-frames for the schemes to be implemented.

Hide AdThe projects listed must go through a design and risk assessment process which could lead to them changing completely, the council said, but these are seen as measures “likely to be appropriate”.
Below is a list of all the schemes and streets listed by the council:
Short term proposals (implemented by the end of May)
- Dundee Street at Fountainbridge and Viewport: Installation of bus gates at Fountainbridge, closure of Viewforth, temporary cycle segregation on Dundee Street
- Braid Hills Drive/Road: Investigating options to increase space for exercise in this area
- East Fettes Avenue: Road closure
