M8 motorway: Delays between Edinburgh and Glasgow after van catches fire

The incident occurred on the M8 near Broxburn in West Lothian.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.00am on Friday, July 17 to reports of a small van on fire on the M8 between junction 2 and junction 3 westbound.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished the flames.

Traffic Scotland have confirmed that both lane are open again and traffic is moving as normal.
