M8 reopens in West Lothian after 8 hour closure for police incident

Traffic Scotland has announced that the M8 is now open westbound at J3A to J4 in West Lothian after a police incident meant it remained closed for 8 hours.

The incident happened at the westbound J3A to J4, near the Amazon UK services warehouse in Bathgate.

Traffic Scotland announced that lanes are now open and running in both directions.

Tweeting about the incident at around 11am this morning, Traffic Scotland said: “The #M8 is now OPEN westbound - both directions running.”

This follows their announcemnt at 6am that the affected area remained closed following a police incident.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
