Major disruption on some of Scotland's busiest roads after snowfall

Large parts of the country were placed under yellow weather warnings by the Met Office last night, including much of Scotland’s Central Belt and West coast.

Forecasters warned the public to expect delays when commuting and to add extra time to their journeys

Here is a breakdown of some of the travel disruption caused by the weather this morning.

An accident on the M9 at Junction 1A (Kirkliston) means all lanes are restricted westbound.

There are queues on the eastbound M8 at Junction 1, where two lanes are currently restricted.

There are also queues on the eastbound M8 at Juncton 6, and at the westbound Junction 25, where four lanes are blocked due to traffic.

Four lanes of the westbound M80 are blocked where it merges with the M8 in Glasgow due to long queues.
