Man, 83, hospitalised with serious injuries after 4-vehicle crash in Musselburgh as Edinburgh police appeal for witnesses

An 83-year-old man was seriously hurt in a four-vehicle crash in Musselburgh yesterday.

The collision, which involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa and three other vehicles, happened in the town's North High Street at about 10:35am on Thursday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Jennifer Forbes, of Lothian and Scottish Borders Road Policing Unit, said: “The 83-year-old driver sustained significant injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.“I would appeal to anyone who was on the road around 10.30am on Thursday morning, particularly motorists with dashcams, to please get in touch if you have information that could assist our investigation.“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lothian and Scottish Borders Road Policing Unit through 101, quoting incident number 0997 of Thursday 27 August 2020.”
