Man in hospital after two-car crash closes A71 in Livingston during rush hour

A man was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after a two-car crash on the A71 in Livingston this morning.

Police closed Bankton Road in both directions after the crash just before 8am.

The crash occurred between the Lizzie Brice's Roundabout and the Newport Roundabout.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 7.50am to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A71 at the Lizzie Brice's roundabout in Dedridge, Livingston.

"Emergency services attended and one man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The A71 was closed for a short time but has now been reopened."
