Queensferry Road traffic: Edinburgh police close Parkgrove Street after man hit by car

A man has been hospitalised after being hit by a car on Parkgrove Street.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene, near Queensferry Road, at around 5:25pm.

Officers said the man, who has not been identified, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by paramedics to be treated for his injuries.

Details of his condition are not yet known.

Parkgrove Street is currently closed to traffic with diversions in place while Police Scotland continues its inquiries into the incident.

Stagecoach warned customers that its services on the Queensferry Road route were impacted by the crash.

It told followers on Twitter: "All our Edinburgh Services heading to Fife are currently experiencing delays due to a police incident on Queensferry Road."

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Evening News: "Around 5.25pm on Thursday, 3 June, police were called to a report of a male pedestrian struck by a car on Parkgrove Street at Queensferry Road.

“Emergency services attended and the man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

They added: “Parkgrove Street is closed with diversions in place. Enquiries are continuing."
