Stockbridge power cut: here are all the postcodes affected by Edinburgh electricity outage

A power cut which hit part of Edinburgh this evening has now been restored.

Stockbridge and some of the surrounding areas plunged into darkness after an electricity outage affected entire streets at about 7.30pm this evening.

Residents took to social media to post pictures of the blackout which was initially expected to last for about two hours, according to SP Energy Networks.

But the issue has now been resolved and power has been restored to the area.

A statement on the energy company’s website reads: “There was a fault in your area which has now been resolved. If you are still without power. please call us on: Central and Southern Scotland: 0800 092 9290 . Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and North Shropshire: 0800 001 5400.”

The postcodes affected by the outage included: EH41HN, EH41HW, EH41HX
