A lorry was stuck on the Edinburgh City Bypass this morning causing eastbound delays as the snowy weather created challenging driving conditions.

At around 6am today, an HGV found itself stuck on the A720 eastbound Calder to Baberton, causing eastbound delays on the Bypass.

Traffic Scotland said that gritters were en route from Calder to help move the lorry, drivers were urged to avoid the area.

At 8.55am it announced that the HGV was cleared and both lanes were running.

Drivers are being warned that there is traffic queuing on to the M8 J2 which may take a while to ease.
