Beautiful images have captured the tall ship Pelican of London anchored alongside Bass Rock off the East Lothian coast during its tour around the UK.
The boat is being used by Darwin200 – a non-profit company which has been set up to use the anniversary of Charles Darwin's voyage aboard HMS Beagle as an opportunity to find next-generation conservationists.
Specialist environmental scientists are onboard mentoring young scientists and conducting a programme of observations, experiments, discussions, and problem-solving sessions related to the health of Britain's waters.
The ship set sail from Folkestone on August 5 and in a clockwise circum-navigation of the British Isles, called in at Southampton, Plymouth, Cardiff, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Hebrides, St Kilda, Orkney, Shetland, Edinburgh and onto London where the journey ends with a sail-through Tower Bridge.
It will be moored in London for a week where live lectures will be broadcast off the ship.
