Vital £1m railway bridge refurbishment to get underway on Edinburgh's Gorgie Road
Work will take place from January 5 until April, 2021, as part of a wide-ranging structural modernisation programme aimed at protecting and improving Scotland’s Railway.
The vital project - involving cleaning, steelwork repairs and repainting – can’t happen without a partial lane closure between Robertson Avenue and Wheatfield Road.

Hide AdResidents and businesses in the area have been advised of the upcoming programme, which will involve minor de-vegetation work, as well as noisy ‘rivet-busting’ and ‘grit-blasting’ activities.
Apologising for any traffic issues, Gerald Brown, scheme project manager at Network Rail, said: ““We understand that a partial lane closure isn’t ideal on what is an important through route for local traffic, however, the diversion route will ensure we can complete these works with a minimum of disruption and inconvenience to the community.”
