TV star at Hub of architectural awards

Channel Four’s Restoration Man will host the Oscars of the architectural and design world to be held in Edinburgh tomorrow night.

Writer and architect George Clarke will host the 2012 Civic Trust Awards at The Hub.

Two city projects – The National Museum of Scotland and The Scotsman Steps – are among the 52 shortlisted entries for this year’s event, which attracted more than 300 nominations from across the world.

The event recognises the best in architecture, urban design, planning, landscape and public art.

City planning vice- convener Stuart McIvor, who is opening the event, said “Once again there are some extremely high- quality entries in this year’s awards.”
