Two injured after car crashes into garden
Fire crews had to cut him free from the wreckage of the accident at Ford village, near Pathhead, and he was treated at the scene by the Medic 1 mobile trauma unit before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious head and chest injuries. He was later transferred to the Western General Hopsital. A 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was also taken to hospital.
Police said the driver, a local man, had lost control of the white Vauxhall Corsa which left the road, crashed into a garden and overturned, at around 4.30pm yesterday. They are appealing for witnesses.

Hide AdMeanwhile, two men have been hospitalised following a seven-car pile-up on the M8.
The incident occurred on the westbound carriageway just past junction four for Whitburn shortly before 7pm.
It is understood a broken down car on the hard shoulder distracted motorists leading to a two-car accident.
A further five vehicles then collided with these two cars.
Two male casualties were treated for lower back pain – one was transferred to Monklands Hospital, while the other was taken to Wishaw.
Fire appliances from both Bathgate and Shotts attended the scene.
