A month's worth of rain to fall over parts of Scotland this weekend
The Met Office said that an area of low pressure was moving into Scotland from the south today with the weather front then to “swirl about” over Scotland over Sunday and early Monday.

Hide AdThunderstorms and heavy downpours are expected across the Central Belt this afternoon with these bursts of rain to merge into longer wet spells by tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Met Office said between 90 and 100mm of rain was due to fall on Sunday and Monday in Perth and Kinross, the Stirling area and the Highlands.
“That is around a month of rainfall in 36 to 48 hours,” the spokesman said.

Hide AdWith rain moving in, SEPA has issued Flood Alerts across all 19 of its monitoring areas this weekened with localised flooding and travel disruption to be expected.
Despite the unsettled conditions, temperatures were still holding up today in the north with 22 degrees Celsius recorded at Lentran near Inverness today (Saturday).
At Kinloss, 25.8 degrees Celsius was recorded this afternoon.

Hide AdThe majority of the country will experience temperatures around 15 to 16 degrees Celsius over the weekend, the spokesman added.
