US fighter jet crashed in North Sea: Coastguard helicopter in rescue mission

The jet is thought to have gone down off the North East English coast

A US fighter jet has crashed into the North Sea just off the North East coast of England.

The jet was part of a formation of four fighter jets flying out from RAF Lakenheath.

The coastguard helicopter is believed to be involved in the rescue mission.

As of yet, there is no information on the crew onboard.
