Urine bother for weeing

NEARLY 1200 people were caught relieving themselves in public in Lothian and Borders force area during the last year, new police figures have shown.

A total of 1195 people were detained by Lothian and Borders Police for the offence between last April and March, a drop on the 1139 figure for the same period the previous year.

Offenders normally face on-the-spot £40 fines when caught for the offence rather than going to court. In March, David Reynolds, 18, was banned from urinating in public anywhere in East Lothian under the threat of arrest after being hit with an Asbo by a court.

Reynolds, of Colgate Avenue in Tranent, was given the antisocial behaviour order, which also prohibited him from drinking outdoors, after being accused of terrorising his local community.
