A dramatic explosion was witnessed by hundreds of Avengers fans as filming continued in the latest instalment of the series on the Royal Mile.

The massive explosion took place at 10:26pm as part of the filming of the latest Marvel blockbuster as eager fans looked on.

It is unknown if any of the actors involved in the franchise were at the scene when filming was taking place.

According to eye witnesses over 100 people packed the street to see the filming take place with drones also in use as part of the filming.

Filming of the Avengers: Infinity War has been taking place in the Capital in the last few weeks with shooting taking place in areas of the Capital such as Cockburn street and Edinburgh Wavereley.

A vast warehouse on Edinburgh’s waterfront has been turned into a film studio for the latest Avengers blockbuster.
