Waterfront

A NEW whitewater rafting centre next to Ocean Terminal and the revival of previous plans for a giant Ferris wheel are among priorities to bring about the regeneration of Edinburgh’s Waterfront.

The £26.1 million world-class whitewater rafting centre, proposed by an unidentified private firm, could bring around 250,000 people a year to the Victoria Dock in Leith and could be operational by 2016.

It is also hoped that funding support could be secured by the firm behind stalled plans for Scotland’s National Wheel, also next to Ocean Terminal.
