Buses in Penicuik back running after 'severe weather' cancelled services

Buses serving Penicuik are back running after initially being terminated at Ladywood due to severe weather, Lothian buses have said.

It means passengers attempting to get into the city centre or out to the town were stranded.

The 47 and X47 were the main services affected by the weather.

Lothian buses said: “Due to severe weather buses are unable to serve Ladywood and are terminating at Penicuik Town Centre until further notice.”

Traffic Scotland are also warning about wintry conditions on the M8.

They posted: “Wintry conditions on the M8 this morning. Make sure to take extra care - remember no exit eastbound at J5 due to an RTC”
