Hide AdEdinburgh has been battered by wintry weather over the past few days, with numerous weather warnings in place since the weekend.
"Clearly the melted snow and heavy rain has caused the levels to rise," said one Edinburgh resident.

In June 2019, it was thought that one of the six statues at Powderhall had been washed away due to heavy downpours, but it turned out the water level had just risen above the top of its head.
Also in June last year, a passer-by stuck a pair of 'Bawbags' boxer shorts on one of the statues.
