Edinburgh Castle CLOSED as strong winds hit Capital and yellow weather warning in force

Edinburgh Castle will not open at the usual time as gale force winds batter the Capital.
Staff at the Castle, which stands 443 feet above sea level, took to Twitter to announce that the usual opening time of 9.30am would be missed as winds of up to 60mph hit the city.

Hide AdAn announcement will be made is and when the Castle is safe to reopen.
They wrote: "Given the current weather in Edinburgh, unfortunately the castle will not open at 9.30am today, Tues 10 Dec.
"We will continue to assess the situation and will post an update as soon as we hear the castle will open.
"We apologises for an inconvenience caused."
Experts at the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for high winds in Edinburgh and the Lothians for much of Tuesday.
