Edinburgh Christmas Market to reopen on Wednesday morning after Storm Brendan forced closure

The Market was closed all day on Tuesday.

Edinburgh Christmas Market will reopen at 10am today (Wednesday) following its all day closure on Tuesday.

The Market was closed on safety grounds after winds of up to 60mph battered the Capital.

Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo and other attractions and landmarkers also closed throughout the day, while a helter skelter in the city centre had to be held up by a van with ropes attached.

The Christmas Market's big wheel also had to have the top carriages removed as a safety precaution.
