Edinburgh prepares for bank holiday weekend rain in latest forecast following days of uninterrupted sunshine
The weather has been bright and sunny lately but it’s set to take a turn this weekend
Edinburgh has been basking in sunshine and mild temperatures over the past week but the bank holiday weekend will put a dampener on plans.
This weekend is set to see the return of rain to the east coast following the recent spate of good weather.
Dry and clear skies will make way for the threat of rain and showers, with the possibility of wet periods coming as soon as Friday afternoon (May 1).

According to the Met Office forecast, there is a 30 per cent chance of rain for the Capital from 12pm on Friday afternoon.
This increases to 60 per cent by 3pm gradually increasing into Friday evening.
Showers are likely to be a mainstay throughout the weekend, with high probability of showers on Saturday and particularly Sunday.
Monday’s Bank Holiday is also threatening to be a wet one, with the increasing possibility of rain from 12pm onwards into the evening.
Temperatures will take a slight dip compared to recent days, with highs of 17C on Friday and Saturday and a high of 11C on Sunday.
Monday’s top temperature is expected to hit 14C.
The Met Office’s weekend forecast for the Dumfries, Galloway, Lothian & Borders region says: “[Saturday] will be largely cloudy through the day with some showery outbreaks of rain which may turn heavy at times, but some brighter spells may develop in the afternoon.
“Cloudy on Sunday with a chance of showers. Sunny spells and a few showers on Monday and Tuesday. Remaining cooler than recent days.”
