Temperatures are also expected to take a slight tumble for the sweltering highs of 27C that Edinburgh has experiences in the past few days.

The mercury will hit a high of a much more comfortable 17C on Saturday.

The Met Office’s forecast for the region says: “A cooler and dull and cloudy day in the east, some limited brightness possible in the afternoon.”
