Edinburgh weather: Dry with sunny spells and temperatures reaching 20C across the Capital this week

As the weekend kicks off, weather experts have predicted that the Capital will remain mainly dry with sunny spells and warm light winds across the weekend with cloudier skies during the week.

It is set to be another pleasant day in Edinburgh on Saturday, according to weather experts.

The Met Office has predicted the Capital will see temperatures of up to 19C with sunny spells changing to cloud in the afternoon.

There is a 50 per cent chance of rain at 6pm with temperatures at 17C, however, weather experts say this will quickly turn into cloudy with sunny intervals, remaining at a pleasant 17C.

The pleasant temperature will remain throughout Saturday thanks to light southerly winds with it only dropping to 15C between 10pm and 11pm.

By Sunday, we can expect much of the same temperature wise, however, we are likely to see the clouds disappear and the sun comes out in full form from 6am onwards.

The sun is expected to peak through the clouds by 5am and shine bright throughout the day reaching a high of 19C.

The moon will be an earlier show in comparison to Saturday with its celestial beam expecting to greet us at around 10pm and bringing with it a clear night.

The lowest temperatures across the weekend will be on Sunday night when it will be around 13C to 12C between 10pm and 11pm.

From Monday to Wednesday, high pressure will maintain dry, settled weather with sunny spells, light winds and temperatures staying on the warm side.

However, according to the Met Office, Monday will offer cloudier conditions changing to light showers by lunchtime with a maximum temperature of 18C.

There is also a 40 per cent chance of rain at 1pm.

Tuesday will bring sunny intervals changing to cloudy by lunchtime with a maximum of 20C.

This weather will continue into Wednesday with sunny intervals changing cloudy by late morning and highs of 20C.

As we head further into the week, however, we can expect this cloud to shift slightly as Thursday and Friday offer sunny intervals changing to partly cloudy as both days develop.

Thursday will offer temperature highs of 20C and this will dip by Friday to 18C and lows of 13C by 10pm on Friday.
