Edinburgh weather hour-by-hour: Heavy rain and wind set to batter Capital as yellow weather warnings in place for East and West Lothian

The Capital is set for a day of heavy wind and rain today (Friday 21 February) as Yellow weather warnings come into place in the surrounding areas.
While a weather warning is not directly in place for Edinburgh itself, both East Lothian and West Lothian have Yellow warnings in place for both wind and rain which the Capital is set to feel the effects of.

Hide AdThe Met Office said, “Rain, heavy at times, with strong to gale southwest winds. Turning showery later in the evening, the showers turning wintry overnight.”
The Met Office have advised that due to the adverse weather, those in areas which have Yellow warnings can expect the following:
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

- Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
- Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
It comes as a Yellow weather warning for wind is set to cover the whole of Scotland in to late at night on Saturday.
