The Capital is set for a scorcher as temperatures are set to soar to 28C.

Get out your deck chairs and barbecues because bright sunshine and warm temperatures are forecast in Edinburgh today just in time for the weekend.

The sun is set to shine from early on this morning and temperatures will climb throughout the day peaking at a scorching 28C this afternoon.

Although it will begin to get cloudy after 4pm, the temperatures will remain warm well into the evening and still be around 19C at 11pm tonight.

On Saturday, the weather is forecast to remain dry however temperatures will take a dip, peaking at a more modest 18C tomorrow afternoon.
