After days of heavy rain things are brightening up in Edinburgh and those hoping to get out to enjoy a drink or two are in luck as the Capital is expected to stay dry on Monday as beer gardens around the country reopen.

After a weekend of thunderstorms the temperature is set to rise and the Capital is expected to be warm for the majority of the day with very little chance of rain.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said that Monday would be: “Mostly dry with sunny intervals but still a chance of a light shower at first in the morning.

“Feeling warmer in afternoon sunshine as winds become lighter. Maximum temperature 18C.”

It is only the outdoor areas in pubs that will be open on Monday, and all other pubs will be allowed to reopen on July 15 with strict physical distancing in place.

Police Scotland have said that they will be increasing patrols in the area.

They have asked the public to take personal responsibility and do the right thing by sticking to the guidelines.
