Edinburgh weather: Yellow weather warning issued as heavy rain set to batter Capital

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as heavy rain is set to batter the Capital on Tuesday.

From 1pm on Tuesday 18 August, the weather warning will be in place and is expected to last until 9pm that night. It is warned that the heavy rain may bring some disruption.

The Met Office has warned that the follow can be expected:

- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings along with fast flowing or deep floodwater

- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

- Where flooding occurs, there is a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services and there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses

- There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
