Edinburgh weekend weather forecast: Dry and bright with some warm sunshine across the Capital expected by Met Office experts ahead of lockdown easing on April 26
The weekend weather in Edinburgh and the Lothians is expected to kick off with warm sunshine, however, as the weekend goes on, we will see more clouds and potential rainfall as temperatures drop ahead of lockdown easing.
On Friday, April 23, we can expect “a bright day with sunny spells and light winds”, according to the Met Office.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Feeling warm in afternoon sunshine, although some coasts cooler with onshore breezes developing and sunshine will turn hazy through the day as cloud amounts increase.”
Get your shades out and the ice cream ready, as the Capital and surrounding areas will record a maximum temperatures of 14-17 °C on Friday.
By Friday night, we can expect a “dry, bright end to the day then clear spells overnight but rather more cloud around”, according to the Met Office.
There will also be the potential of frost in places. There will also be a risk of low cloud near the east coast. In Edinburgh and it’s surrounding areas we can expect a minimum temperature of -1 °C.
By Saturday, sun will still remain but at a slightly cooler temperature with Edinburgh recording highs of 10°C in the afternoon.
The Met Office said the central and south east of Scotland will be “ rather cloudy” but low cloud near coasts will soon clear.
For Saturday, a Met Office spokesperson said: “Cooler, but still feeling warm in sunnier spells, especially in the west, though chilly onshore winds near the east coast.”
It will be mainly dry with sunny spells on Sunday, April 25, across the east coast.
In Edinburgh, the sun is predicted to appear with its hat on at 1pm and weather experts predict clouds will disappear by 4pm leaving on sunshine and temperatures predicted to be 11 °C.
As restrictions ease, the Met Office has said the east coast will be cloudier on Monday, April 26, with some showers, though mostly dry and bright in west.
Edinburgh is expected to record highs of 11 °C on a cloudy day as people head to pubs, bars and shops across the Capital.
It will be mostly cloudy on Tuesday, April 27, and will be cool with scattered showers across the east of Scotland.
