AWARD-winning artist Qian Shi was inspired by the Museum of Childhood’s Shoe Doll to create a short film being used to encourage young people to enter a new competition.

Budding animators have until March 22 to submit short films based on the real or imagined backstory of an object in the museum.

Qian Shi created her film, Shoe, after a visit to the Museum of Childhood in 2006.She said: “The Shoe Doll really impressed me, it was so different compared with any other doll I have ever seen in my life.”
