Welsh gets hands dirty as snapper

ACTOR James McAvoy was joined by author Irvine Welsh on the set of Filth in the Grassmarket yesterday, as the author took on a small role in the film adaptation of one of his novels.
McAvoy is starring in the film as corrupt cop Bruce Robertson, and he was joined by Welsh – who took on the role of a photographer for the day.
Filming closed off parts of the area to the public briefly, and during a break the author said the film was “marvellous”.
McAvoy previously said taking on the role was “the biggest risk’ of his career”.
