We’re just digging the new school

AN archaelogical investigation has been taking place in the Capital.

The city council began the work as part of the planning process for the proposed new 1400 pupil high school at Portobello Park.

The archaeological evaluation was carried out by Headland Archaeology Ltd and got under way on Wednesday, but there were no significant discoveries.

A council spokesman said: “Barring a significant find, we expect the team to be off-site early next week.”
