Police are hunting a man who robbed a bookmakers at knifepoint in West Lothian.

• Ladbrokes branch held up at knifepoint in Bathgate

• Man demanded money from staff before fleeing with a three-figure sum

The incident happened at Ladbrokes in King Street, Bathgate, at 10.20am yesterday.

The man produced a knife and demanded money from staff before fleeing the shop with a three-figure sum of cash.

No-one was injured, police said.

The man is described as being white, about 5ft 7in, of slim build, with brown eyes and dark stubble.

He was wearing a dark baseball cap and a dark Adidas hooded top with a lighter section on the front and three stripes down the arms.

Officers are appealing for witnesses.

A force spokesman said: “While nobody was injured, this was an upsetting ordeal for both staff and customers, and we are eager for any information that can help us trace the suspect.”
