Western Harbour incident: Emergency services attend fire at ‘Point of Leith lighthouse’

Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire at the Western Harbour lighthouse on Wednesday afternoon.

Police received reports of the fire at the lighthouse – often referred to as the Point of Leith lighthouse – at around 2.20pm.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police were called around 2.20pm on Wednesday, 19 May, 2021 following the report of a fire at a lighthouse at Western Harbour.

"There were no injuries and the fire is being treated as wilful at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
