Wizard spell is over for JK

JK Rowling has said she would rather write unpopular books than spend the rest of her life writing about wizards.

The Harry Potter author said she would never return to the children’s series.

Speaking at Lennoxlove Book Festival in East Lothian, she said: “I would rather spend the rest of my career writing books I love but others don’t love so much than trying to repeat something I’ve done.”

She said she would not want to be known as a “writer who wrote wizard books till she died”.

Ms Rowling also joked her move away from the fantasy genre had allowed her to write about sex.
