Suez Canal: Ever Given boat reportedly freed

The huge container ship which has been blocking one of the world’s busiest trade routes for the past week has been freed according to reports.

The container ship MV Ever Given has reportedly been refloated from the banks of the Suez canal.

The news was reported by local sources to Reuters news agency but these reports are awaiting confirmation.

After the extreme efforts to free the vessel the canal services firm Leth Agencies has said that the ship had been “partially refloated”

Details have not been announced of when the ship may be fully dislodged.

The vessel became stuck in Egypt’s Suez Canal last Tuesday and resulted in billions of pounds of loss to global trade each day it was blocking the vital waterway.
