Young Scots ‘hit hardest’

YOUNG Scots are among those hardest hit in the current economic climate, Labour’s David Miliband claimed on a visit to Edinburgh.

The former foreign secretary took part in a question-and-answer session with staff and students at Edinburgh University, part of a UK-wide initiative by the party to engage with Britain’s students.

He said: “I’m here to support Labour students but also to listen and learn after Labour’s serious losses. Politicians from north and south of the border have to re-engage and reconnect. That’s about listening to people, talking to people and really understanding the issues people worry about.

“These are tough times.”
