Police were forced to escort a cyclist who inadvertently ended up on the A1 during a charity cycle event.

Road traffic police in Dalkeith traced a cyclist who had inadvertently ended up on the A1 near Haddington.

It is prohibited for cyclists to go on the road, however, officers stepped in to safely escore the cyclist and point them in the direction of the Capital.

The cyclists are currently finishing a charity cycle from Bristol to Edinburgh.
