A missing man from Tranent in East Lothian has been found by police.

Shaun Borrett from Steading View had spoken to his mother on the telephone on Monday and she attended at his home on Tuesday to find the 41-year-old was not within the address.

He had not been seen or heard from since until today when Police Scotland confirmed they had located Mr Borrett.

Police in East Lothian had previously issued photographs of the car similar to the one Mr Borrett may have been driving when he went missing.

Inspector Kevin Clark said in his original statement: “It is out of character for Shaun to leave without notifying family of his plans and as such we are keen to trace him as soon as possible to ensure he is safe.

“If you believe you have seen him, then please contact police immediately.

“We would also urge Shaun to get in touch with family, friends, or with police, to let us know where he is and that he is alright.”
