Caroline Flack’s £800k estate will be donated to charity by her family

Caroline Flack’s £875,000 estate will be donated to charity, it has been announced.

The family of Flack, who died in February at the age of 40, said that her estate will be put to good use, according to the Sun. The late Love Island presenter did not make a will before her death.

Flack’s mother, Christine, said, “We will use the money wisely to help good causes that Caroline was passionate about.”

An estate worth just over £2 million

By law, anyone who dies in England and Wales without making a will is declared intestate. Flack’s parents were given an equal share in the star's estate.

The total value of Caroline Flack’s estate was put at just over £2 million. However, the sum dropped to £827,691, after debts and death duties were taken into account.

New Channel 4 documentary

Caroline Flack was found dead in her home in Stoke Newington, North London, on 15 February 2020. She was awaiting trial for an assault charge after an incident with former boyfriend, Lewis Burton. Both Flack and Burton denied the charge.

Following her death, the online campaign #BeKind was launched to encourage people to carefully consider what they post online.

Friends of the late TV personality shared tributes on what would have been her 41st birthday, on Monday 9 November. Messages came from Bake Off’s Noel Fielding, and Love Island’s Iain Stirling and Laura Whitmore, among others.

It was announced earlier this month that Channel 4 will release a new documentary about Flack. The film will include family and friends, and focus on the life and career of the TV star.

The one hour special will also shine a light on the pressures faced by the former Love Island presenter during her career, as well as the impact of social media and press coverage upon her life.
