Young Scots musician Saskia Eng’s video for Hello (from the Burgh Side) went viral on social media once it was posted yesterday afternoon.
Since then, it has been viewed nearly 80,000 times on Facebook.
Adapting the original lyrics of Adele’s hit song Hello, the singer makes light of the chaos caused by the closure of the Forth Road Bridge this month.
Lyric changes include the chorus: “Hello from the Burgh side/At least I can say that I’ve tried/To get there, I’m sorry/We’ve broken the bridge/But it doesn’t matter/It clearly isn’t fallen apart.”
Shot against the background of the new Queensferry Crossing, Saskia can be seen singing across the dark waters of the Forth Estuary to Fife.
She said: “It was my mum’s idea because she writes songs and poems all the time so she thought hello was the perfect song for a parody.
“I came in from school yesterday and my dad recorded it with me. It only took 10 minutes then me my dad and my friend drove to the bridge and I sang along to what I recorded then went home and my mum made the video.
“It all only took about an hour to do.”
