A Rima electric fondue set with thermostatic control and six stainless steel forks would set you back £12.25.

In the 80s versions, early digital watches, cigarette lighters and stereo systems are among the must-have items.

The 90s saw the advent of cordless phones, CD playing Discmans and the first Nintendo Game Boy handheld games console.

Technological advancements meant mobile phones and digital cameras were readily available in the 2000s while Buzz Lightyear made a debut appearance.

The Argos catalogues are available to view at Book of Dreams.
