Edinburgh shoppers go mad for entire Argos catalogue collection from 1970s to today available online
Five decades worth of Book of Dreams prompts mass reminiscing
SENTIMENTAL shoppers are getting all misty-eyed over past Christmases after Argos published their entire back catalogue collection online.
The retail giant is inviting folk to take a nostalgic trip through five decades of the staple seasonal wishlist guide - starting in the 70s right up until the present-day.
And social media is already abuzz with excited Capital customers flicking through the 'Book of Dreams' pages for childhood memories.
One posted on Twitter: "Argos putting all their catalogues back to 1974 is the highlight of my day!"
And another replied: "Oh god. I think I've just lost the rest of my evening."
The catalogues start from 1974-75 with fondue sets and wooden tennis rackets among the potential gifts.
A Rima electric fondue set with thermostatic control and six stainless steel forks would set you back £12.25.
In the 80s versions, early digital watches, cigarette lighters and stereo systems are among the must-have items.
The 90s saw the advent of cordless phones, CD playing Discmans and the first Nintendo Game Boy handheld games console.
Technological advancements meant mobile phones and digital cameras were readily available in the 2000s while Buzz Lightyear made a debut appearance.
The Argos catalogues are available to view at Book of Dreams.
