Since 2020 JDS have been delivering in and around Edinburgh but this year are expanding and will deliver to households across the central belt.

What kind of tree should I choose?
Which fir to go for very much depends on space and personal preference, but you are guaranteed premium quality. Most real Christmas trees for sale are graded and JDS only stocks premium standard trees guaranteeing high quality.
You can choose from 4ft, 5ft, 6ft, 7ft, 8ft and 9ft with prices from £55 to £144. But you shouldn’t just consider the height of the tree when choosing for your home, but the spread of the branches too.
Fraser fir: These trees are generally narrower and have a deep green needle, which don’t always have that fir-tree festive smell. However the foliage is more compacted and bushier. They are a lovely traditional tree with a rich colour. And, although all JDS’ trees are anti needle drop varieties, you can expect some needle drop.
Nordmann fir: These trees have a very symmetrical shape with strong branches and mid-green colour needles. They can be quite wide (a 6ft tree would have about a 5ft spread). They are more sparse in their foliage, but this means more space to dangle those elaborate decorations. And they have an on average lower needle drop than the Fraser fir.
Where do they deliver to?
JDS Gardening have a dedicated team, who will just be delivering trees. This year they have expanded their delivery footprint to include the central belt, so this means Edinburgh, Lothians, Glasgow and Central Scotland. Delivery costs from £13 depending on your postcode area. They’ll be working seven days a week and you can choose your delivery day.
Do the trees have roots?
No, all these firs have been cut, and can be supplied with a log stand with a hole already cut in to accommodate the trunk of your tree. They also have alternative stands which allow watering of your tree. So, they’ll be ready to set up and decorate as soon as you are.
