With Lithuanian Tomas Cicenas back in their side after missing the first round through a work commitment, the new Scottish champions Boroughmuir Blaze will be favourites to beat last year’s champions Falkirk Fury at the Crags Sports Centre on Sunday (5.30pm) despite Fury’s fine effort in toppling St Mirren at Paisley in the quarter-final.

Edinburgh University men, who play Glasgow Storm in the other semi at the Pleasance tomorrow (2.20pm), won both their regular season games with Storm.

But Storm gave their best display so far in ousting league runners-up Glasgow University on their home court.

Apart from their height, Storm have lively guards in Kyle Haldane and Lacuncian and a hot shooter in Andreas Tuni, who hit four threes against GU.

EU women, unbeaten in Scottish competition this season, should overcome Glasgow Rocks tomorrow night (8pm), despite having to play at the Crags, rather than on their own home court at the CSE.

Waiting them in the final will be the winners of the Tayside Musketeers v Edinburgh Kool Kats semi which take place at Grove Academy, Broughty Ferry tomorrow (12.30pm).

Having lost by single figures only to Muskies away in the league and beaten them comfortably at home, Kats must believe they can turn the tables on the team who beat them for runners-up spot in the table.
