Hearn plans quick return for Anderson
Hearn stated: “Myself and Stevie Woods have a meeting with the Board of Control tomorrow where we will ask the Board to vacate Groves’ title as he is reportedly poised to challenge for the WBA title.
“If the Board agree to our proposal – and we think under the circumstances that they should – then we will ask them to immediately sanction Kenny challenging for the vacated title on the under-card of Carl Froch’s world super-middleweight title fight against French-Canadian champion Lucian Bute in Nottingham on May 26.’’

Hide AdHearn also scotched suggestions that Anderson could have a warm-up fight next month in Edinburgh on Alex Arthur’s next promotion at Meadowbank on Saturday, April 14, saying: “We want to keep Kenny’s powder dry for the actual Nottingham title bid in May.’’
Meanwhile, Edinburgh southpaw British Masters welterweight champion Gary McMillan has confirmed he will make a comeback at Meadowbank in April against a selected opponent over eight rounds. This will be McMillan’s first bout since injuring himself doing road work.
