Hearts-daft boxing champion Lee McGregor wants 2021 title bout at Tynecastle
The 23-year-old previously defeated the Pakistani-born Scottish boxer on a split-decision at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow in November of last year.
After watching ‘Kash’ defeat Ángel Aviles in London last night, McGregor, who had his European title bout with Karim Guerfi postponed after contracting Covid-19, tweeted his hopes for a rematch.

Having tagged Eddie Hearn in the tweet, the popular promoter replied to the Edinburgh star, saying: “It’s the fight for 2021 at Hydro when crowds are back! Go beat Guerfi then let’s do it.”
But McGregor had venue in mind much closer to his heart. He answered: “If I’m bringing 3 belts to the table I’m sure we can agree something at tynecastle park.. Huge 12 months ahead I will be ready for whoever whatever whenever.”
McGregor currently holds the Commonwealth bantamweight title and the British bantamweight title, which he won from Farooq. He is 9-0 with seven knockouts in his young professional career.

Hide AdHe’s previously stated his desire for a fight at Tynecastle, telling STV after the victory over Farooq: "Everyone knows I am diehard Jambo and Hearts are right on board with me. I am sure the fight at Tynecastle will happen one day. I think Kash is the perfect opponent to sell that fight out. It will probably be for European or world honours.”
