McIntosh will begin his spell with the “Wildcats” next autumn after another full season on the domestic circuit.

“Eric is a hard worker who has a tremendous passion for the game of golf,” said Inglis. “He will be a great addition to the team and I’m really looking forward to him joining the Northwestern Golf family next fall.”

The signing was also hailed by legendary “Wildcats” coach Pat Goss, who praised Inglis for his role in attracting McIntosh to Northwestern.

“Coach Inglis has once again done a wonderful job of utilising his background and relationships internationally to help us sign a strong player,” he said.

“Eric is an impressive student-athlete who culturally fits our programme and I look forward to coaching him over the next four years and being part of his development.”
