Craigmillar display their girl power
Girl power has created history at a Capital club after boys were outmunbered in Craigmillar Park's team for an Edinburgh Junior Summer League match.
Sisters Emma and Lucy Morrison, Megan Linton and Lucy Hall earned their place in the record books as they joined forces with Sam Hall and Mark Brooks in a 4-2 win at Glencorse.
“This is at a time when there is supposedly a declining number of young girls playing the game,” said Craigmillar Park club captain George Hunter.
“We could have fielded a whole team of girls as we also have Emily Rigg and Georgina Ledingham, the handicap winner in last week’s Scottish Girls Championship at Baberton.”
