Cricket: Bissett has a ball for SMRH

SMRH still have a chance to snatch fifth place in the SNCL Championship after they defeated Ferguslie by nine wickets at Inverleith yesterday.

Chris Bissett was the star with the ball for the Edinburgh side, taking 6-28 as the visitors were bowled out for 165. Teenager Michael English top scored with 72 for Ferguslie.

Worker then also shone with the bat, the Kiwi scoring 75 not out and young Australian Brayden Tracey weighed in with 55 as they reached their victory target with ease.

Edinburgh Accies defeated Penicuik in a low scoring encounter at Newfield. The hosts were bowled out for 146, but the Midlothian side were then bowled out for 121.

On Saturday West Lothian stayed top with a comfortable seven-wicket victory at Renfrew.
